Interesting finishes can also be achieved on ferrous metals.BROWN BRONZE POWDER INSTRUCTIONS 1, Protect eyes and skin with suitable gloves/goggles2, Measure a small quantity into plastic/metal cup/jar3, Slowly add water to mix and stir until to a paste4, Add more water until a slurry has been achieved5, A grey oily swirl should be seen when the slurry is at its optimum.6, Prepare surface of material, this should be clean and free from grease.7, Wire wool to lightly etch the surface before patination.8, Brush the slurry onto surface of material. This only needs to be enough to cover the area required, allow to dry.9, Burnish the area covered by using a wire or stiff bristled brush.10, Work the covered area into the material until it has patinated.11, For darker and more even colour brush more slurry over the area, dry,
then burnish again. repeat as necessary.12, Wax should be applied once the required patina has been achieved.
