For all new customers your first order will be delivered to your card registered address. This is to protect against fraud and identity theft. An alternative delivery address can be used on subsequent orders.
If we have sent incorrect items in error, we will of course exchange them as soon as practicable. Other than this, we regret that we cannot accept the return of any Perishable Materials under any circumstances. Please ensure that any items are suitably re-packaged and protected prior to returning them. These rules are strictly observed for the protection of all customers. We would not normally accept the return of videos, unless faulty. Other items, if not required and in unused condition, can be returned to us within 14 days, carriage-paid by you, for credit.
Every care is taken in the manufacture of the tools, materials and equipment that we sell. Any product that appears to be faulty should be returned to us carriage paid. If the items proves to be faulty, we will exchange or repair and refund carriage. No liability, however, can be accepted for injury, loss, accident or damage, whether to property or persons, arising out of or in connection with any tools, materials or goods supplied by us.
We advise that any returned goods should be sent by a tracked and signed for delivery or courier service to ensure proof of postage and delivery and have appropriate insurance to cover both parties in the event that the package is lost.
Whilst we are happy to give general advice about the use of our products, it should be noted that it is your responsibility to satisfy yourself as to their suitability for your particular application and it is advisable that you carry out a test to verify their suitability for your proposed application.
The illustrations and definitions of goods shown in our catalogue and on this website are intended as a guide to buyers, and we cannot be held liable in law for any inaccuracies. Due to our policy of continuous improvement, we reserve the right to alter the specification of tools, equipment and tool sets without notification. We will of course keep details on this website as up to date as possible.
Every care is taken to ensure the accuracy of details and prices on this site. Prices charged are those ruling at date of despatch although prices shown on this site will be honoured as far as possible, Errors and Omissions accepted.
Items that are out of stock and cannot be dispatched with your order will be sent out at a later date and incur an additional carriage charge but no packing fee will be added.
All orders to be despatched within the UK will incur VAT. This must be charged on the carriage/postage and packing fee as well as on the goods. EC countries are also charged VAT unless a VAT Number is quoted. Orders to be sent to other overseas locations will not be charged VAT. Your Shopping Basket and Order Form will show the total both excluding and including VAT.
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is now UK law. The legislation aims to make producers pay for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electrical equipment. The regulations also mean that suppliers of the equipment like high street shops and internet retailers must allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge.
The amount of WEEE we throw away is increasing by around 5% each year, making it the fastest growing waste stream in the UK.
Much of the UK’s WEEE ends up in landfill where the lead and other toxins it contains can cause soil and water contamination. This can have a harmful effects on natural habitat, wildlife and also human health.
Many electrical items that we throw away can be repaired or recycled. Recycling items helps to save our natural finite resources and also reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending electrical goods to landfill.
Distributors of new Electric and Electronic Equipment (EEE) have a part to play in reducing the amount of WEEE go into landfill sites.
Alec Tiranti Ltd is obliged under these regulations to offer our customers free take-back of their Weee on a like-for-like basis when they buy a new Electrical or Electronic product from us. For example if a customer brought a new Dremel from us we would accept their old Dremel to prevent it going into landfill site by disposing of it safely. Customers must return their WEEE item to us within 28 days of purchasing their new item
Under the WEEE regulations, all new electrical goods should now be marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol shown below:
Goods are marked with this symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and should be disposed of separately from normal household waste so that they can be recycled.
